How to Create A Google Ad In UpHex

Setting Up Google Ads In UpHex - Full Setup Guide

You can create 2 different types of Google ads using your UpHex Google template builder: Google Performance Max ads and Google Search ads. You can set up both types in one campaign, or choose to set up one.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Basic Info & Settings

  • Go to My Templates.

  • Select Google.

  • Click Create.

  • Provide a descriptive name for your ad template. This name will only be visible to you and your clients.

  • (Optional) Add a Category and GHL Custom Tags for organization.

  • (Optional) Toggle Requires Campaign End Date if campaigns must specify an end date.

  • Select the Language for your ad.

  • Choose the Google Networks. We recommend selecting only Google Search Network for Search campaigns. Performance Max automatically uses all placements.

Step 2: Ad Content

  • Headlines:

    • Create at least 5 headlines (up to 15). Each headline has a 30-character limit.

    • Create at least 2 long headlines (up to 5). Each long headline has a 90-character limit.

    • You can pin headlines to specific positions using the pin icon next to each headline field.

  • Descriptions:

    • Write 1 short description (60-character limit) and at least 2 long descriptions (90-character limit each).

    • You can also pin descriptions to specific positions.

Step 3: Images

  • Upload at least one landscape image and one square image.

  • Follow the specified image ratios explained in the template builder.

Step 4: Audience Signals

  • Keywords:

    • List keywords relevant to your ad (5 or fewer recommended).

    • These are terms people might search for to find your product/service.

  • Negative Keywords (Google Search Ads Only):

    • Specify words that should prevent your ad from showing.

  • Targeting Options:

    • User Interest & In Market: Target people actively searching for your product/service.

    • Affinity: Target people with a long-time interest in your topic.

    • Life Events & Detailed Demographics: Use these options cautiously or leave them blank if not relevant.

Step 5: Landing Page (EZ Pages)

  • Optionally select a landing page domain and an EZ Page template to pair with your Google ad.

Save the Template

  • Click Save Template.

  • The Google ad template will be available in your template library for you and your clients to launch.
