Google Ads: Pin Headlines & Descriptions
By default, Google will rotate and test your headlines and descriptions in different positions. Pinning lets you lock a specific headline or description to a specific position in your ad.
How to Pin Headlines:
When creating or editing a Google template, go to Step 2: Ad Content.
Next to each headline field, you will see a pin icon.
Click the pin icon to open a position menu.
Select the headline position (1, 2, or 3) where you want that headline to always appear.
To unpin, click the pin icon again and select the unpin option.
How to Pin Descriptions:
In the same Step 2 section, each long description field also has a pin icon.
Click it to lock a description into position 1 or 2.
When to Use Pinning:
Pin your most important headline to Position 1 to ensure it always shows first.
Use pinning sparingly -- giving Google the freedom to test combinations usually leads to better performance.
