Connect Slack to UpHex

Connecting Slack lets your team chat with Uppie, UpHex's AI assistant, right inside Slack. It can also send agency notifications to a Slack channel you choose.

Before you start

• Anyone on your UpHex agency team can connect Slack. You don't need to be an account admin.
• You need permission to add apps to your Slack workspace. If your workspace only lets admins install apps, ask a Slack admin to do these steps with you.
• Each UpHex agency connects one Slack workspace. Connect a workspace your agency uses, not one shared with another UpHex agency.

Step 1: Install Slack from the App Marketplace

1. In UpHex, open the App Marketplace.
2. Find Slack and click Install.

Step 2: Connect your workspace

1. Open the Slack app in UpHex (Apps → Slack).
2. Click Add to Slack.
3. If you're signed in to more than one Slack workspace, choose the right one in the top-right corner of the Slack page.
4. Review the permissions and click Allow.

You'll come back to UpHex and see Slack connected successfully!, along with your workspace name.

Step 3: Choose a default channel (optional)

1. Under Default channel, pick the channel where agency notifications should go and save.
2. Click Send test message to check that everything works.

Step 4: Start chatting with Uppie

Your team can now DM the UpHex app in Slack or mention @UpHex in a channel. Each person links their UpHex login the first time they message Uppie. See Chat with Uppie in Slack.

Reconnecting or disconnecting

• If Apps → Slack shows Reconnect to enable Uppie chat, your connection was made before Uppie could chat in Slack. Click the button and approve the new permissions. Your notifications keep working the whole time.
• To disconnect, open Apps → Slack and click Disconnect Slack. Uppie stops answering in that workspace, and notifications stop.
