Smart Tracking - UpHex's Easy Pixel Solution
pixels have become complicated. It's confusing 'cause there's so many different ways that you can set them up, and depending on what platforms you're using, it all just becomes very confusing and convoluted. But something that UpHex has done to help alleviate all this pixel madness is we have created a smart tracking pixel inside of your UpHex account, which doesn't require you to hop into Facebook to set it up and is extremely straightforward and simple to use. Let's go ahead and jump in. I am in my UpHex account. I'm gonna click on one of my clients, and I'm going to select tracking codes. Now, if you do not have a pixel, then you will want to first go to direct installation and create a pixel inside of UpHex. You do not have to go into your Facebook account to create a Facebook pixel. whatever account you have set up in the integrations, so this ad account right here, if I'm creating a pixel, it's gonna create it under this ad account. If you do already have a pixel, you'll see it here. You'll see the name of that pixel, and you'll have something that looks like this, base pixel code. And that's how you know that you already have a pixel created. The next thing we're going to do is we're gonna go to smart tracking and we're gonna see this code right here. We're gonna copy the entire thing, and this is your pixel code that we're going to put onto your website. Here is my website. A lot of you use GoHighLevel, so that's the example I'm gonna be using today. But if you're using WordPress, you can add a plugin for a head tracking code, and you can paste this code in there. if you're using something like Lovable, you can ask Lovable to put this code into your head tracking section. And make sure you ask it to do it for all the pages on your website. For GHL, you just click on settings, and under head tracking code, you will paste it right in there, The nice thing about doing it in the settings is this connects it to every page inside of your funnel, which is what you typically want. So we'll go ahead and hit save. All right. So step one of the pixel is done. Step two of the pixel, and this is where people usually get into trouble, is the event code. You can now create events inside of UpEx. So the pixel sends all the data back to Facebook, but you have to tell Facebook what is a lead or what is a purchase or what is a schedule. You have to define the actions that are actually happening on your page. So we're gonna go back into AppEx, and we're gonna scroll down until we see Configure Conversion Rules. You're gonna make sure that you check this Enable Facebook Conversion API, also called CAPI. Make sure that the correct pixel is chosen, and then save that configuration. And then down here, this is where you can create rules. So you'll select Add Rule, and you'll give your rule a name. New Lead Thank You Page Land. And then you have the trigger type. And so this, you can choose from Page View, a Form Submit, or a Click. I'm gonna keep it really simple and go with Page View. And basically, on my landing page, if somebody goes here and fills out this form, and hits Submit, then it will take them to this landing page. So I know that everybody that fills out this form lands on this landing page. That means anyone who fills out this form is a lead. So I'm gonna copy this, and I'm gonna go here. I'm gonna do Page View, and I'm gonna do Contains. Paste that in. And you can do equals exactly. I recommend using contains just in case maybe someone has a thank you 3457 or whatever it is at the end. If it contains this, even if it has something on the end, it will still count it. So we like to have a little flexibility. Then we're gonna tell Facebook what type of event this is. So this w- for me, would be a lead. We're gonna enable CAPI, so make sure to check that, and we're gonna create that rule. All right. So that is how you set up an event. Now, the last piece of this puzzle is you have to tell Facebook which event you want the ad to optimize for. for me, I want to optimize for new leads who land on the thank you page So when I go to my template inside of UpHex, and I will edit the template that I want to run I'm gonna go to campaign settings, I'm gonna click on conversion event, and I'm gonna make sure that this says lead. And now when I launch this ad, Facebook is told to optimize for this type of event, and it's gonna look and see that anyone that lands on this page is the event that it's looking for, And now it knows what to optimize for. You can optimize for new leads. You can optimize for when people book. You can optimize if people purchase or anything along those lines. And that is it, you guys. Those are the three parts of the pixel. One last thing that is important to share with you. If you are doing a Facebook lead gen form, you do not need a pixel. All of that information is collected inside of Facebook automatically because people do not leave the platform. It's when people leave the platform that you need to set up a pixel. Hope this helps.
