Make Sure Leads Get Pushed Into GHL After You Launch Your Ad
Here’s your cleaned-up transcript in paragraph form:
After you launch an ad, you want to make sure that the leads are pushing into your GoHighLevel account and that the automations are firing off. In this video, I’m going to walk you through a couple of different ways to set that up. First, we’ll cover landing page offers, since those are different from lead gen ads, and then we’ll go through lead gen forms, which have a slightly different setup.
Let’s start with the landing page. If you’ve launched a landing page ad, the first thing you want to do is make sure the leads are being pulled into GoHighLevel and that your automations are firing. To do that, go to your landing page and identify how leads are signing up for your offer. For example, someone might click a button, which opens a popup form where they enter their information. That form is how your leads are coming in.
Next, you’ll want to find the exact name of that form. You can do this by editing the landing page, opening the popup or form settings, and locating the form name. This is important because you’ll need that exact form name when setting up your automation triggers.
Once you have that, go into GoHighLevel and navigate to Automations. If you’re using the snapshot, you’ll typically be working with two workflows: New Lead Outreach and New Lead Notification. Open the workflow, and add a new trigger. Choose “Form Submitted” and select the correct form. This ensures that whenever someone fills out that form, the automation will fire. You’ll want to repeat this process for both workflows so that leads are added to your pipeline, notifications are sent, and follow-up messages go out.
If your funnel uses something other than a form, like a calendar, the concept is the same but the trigger changes. Instead of using a form submission trigger, you’ll use an appointment-based trigger. In that case, go to your appointment workflows and make sure the trigger is tied to the correct calendar. Also, instead of sending lead nurture messages, you’ll use confirmation and reminder workflows, since the person has already booked an appointment.
The key idea is that whatever action the lead takes in your funnel—whether it’s filling out a form, booking a call, or completing another action—you need to match that action with the correct trigger inside your workflows so the system pulls the lead in and fires the automation.
Now let’s move on to lead gen ads. There are two ways to handle these: the traditional GoHighLevel method and the UpHex method. Starting with the GoHighLevel method, once you’ve launched a lead gen ad, go into the correct sub-account in GoHighLevel, then navigate to Settings and Integrations. You’ll need to connect your Facebook account or your client’s Facebook page if it’s not already connected. This is separate from your UpHex integration.
When connecting Facebook, follow the prompts, log in if needed, and make sure to choose the top permission option to avoid issues later. Then select the correct Facebook page—the one your ads are running from—since that’s where your leads are coming from.
Once the integration is set up, go to Facebook Form Field Mapping. You’ll see a list of your lead forms, with the newest ones typically at the top. Select the correct form and click “Map Fields.” Here, you’re simply matching each field from the Facebook form to the correct field in GoHighLevel, like first name, last name, email, and phone. This ensures the data is stored correctly in your CRM.
If your form includes custom questions, you’ll need to create matching custom fields in GoHighLevel. Go to Custom Fields, add a new field, choose the appropriate field type, and name it according to your question. Then return to the mapping screen and match that custom question to your new field. This ensures all data from your form is captured properly.
After mapping is complete, the form will start importing leads into GoHighLevel. However, importing leads is only step one—you still need to trigger your automations. To do that, go back into your workflows and add a trigger for “Facebook Lead Form Submitted.” Select the correct page and form. This will ensure that whenever someone fills out the form, your automations—like follow-ups and notifications—are triggered.
The second method for handling lead gen ads is through UpHex. This approach allows you to tag leads in UpHex, push them into GoHighLevel with those tags, and trigger automations based on the tags instead of mapping forms. It simplifies the process and, if set up correctly, only needs to be done once.
To set this up, go into UpHex, navigate to Settings, then Integrations, and connect GoHighLevel if it’s not already connected. Make sure you connect at the agency level and enable installation for all locations and future accounts so all sub-accounts can receive leads.
Next, go to Customizations and enable the setting to push leads into GoHighLevel. Once that’s done, go into your ad template and add GoHighLevel tags under additional settings. You can add multiple tags, just make sure they’re separated by a comma and a space.
When you launch an ad, UpHex will automatically push leads into GoHighLevel and apply those tags, along with the template name as a tag. This removes the need for form mapping entirely.
Finally, in GoHighLevel, set up your workflows to trigger based on “Contact Tag Added.” Enter the exact tag you used in UpHex. When a lead comes in with that tag, your automation will fire. If you standardize this with a universal tag, you only need to set up your automation once.
That’s it. Those are the different ways to make sure your leads are imported into your system and your automations are firing correctly. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
